Mudita started with the birth of an idea. In 1993, the Indian Open Skies policy saw the establishment of a number of new entrants into the Indian skies. Shaking the age old monopoly of Indian Airlines were a spate of carriers, eager to capture a share of the pie. Soon, from one National Carrier, there were many, and names like Modiluft, Damania Airways, Sahara Airlines and East West Airways were winging their way across the Indian skies.
